YouTube equipment setup for beginners may include B&H Photo Video's DOFTec Z96 K Professional Photo & Video LED Light Kit which I unbox/review for my GoPro HERO5 Black to improve visual quality. Let's find out if this LED camera light is a step in the right direction. My initial thoughts are the jury's still out. I would be very unhappy had I paid the full price listed on B & H Photo & Video's website of $147. Luckily, I purchased it as one of BHPhotoVideo.com Daily Deals for $75 back in November 2019. However, even at that price, I'm not entirely satisfied with the quality of this LED light source. It feels very plastic but worse is the high-pitched harmonic tone interference being picked up in my GoPro HERO 5 Black when the LED light is set to about 75-80% illumination. It may be my Go Pro's external microphone adapter but properly-engineered electronic devices are tested for their potential electronic interference, especially for equipment being used near recording equipment. I'll put it through it's paces as I still intend to use it for creating my newer videos. Up until purchasing this, I've been using any external light I can rig up from house lamps without shades to garage work lights to my Kobalt LED work light. I'm hopeful this will improve my video lighting and intend to keep this DOF Tec LED light at turned to maximum illumination with both diffuser filters attached when inside house and garage and without the amber tungsten simulator filter when outside.
