VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE BLOODLINES 2 | 4K Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Today we archive something very special. Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines is in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Despite it having some flaws and a very abrupt ending, it offers RPG goodness with so many choices of gameplay in a way that is simply lost with modern games. Bloodlines 2 has been through development hell and it is quite a miracle that it has been released in the first place. Unfortunately the result is very much a mixed bag and quite a letdown for hardcore fans of the first game. I actually think that you could enjoy this game if you are not familiar with the first game and simply want to experience a vampire noir detective story. We play as Phyre who awakens from a long slumber and finds himsefl stuck in Seattle with a talking Malkavian in his head. The prince of Seattle has been put down and the different factions are warring for territory and control. I actually think that the first few hours of the game are pretty cool. Though it very clearly is not an RPG, hearing terms like Brujah, Toreador, The Camarilla, The Sabbat and the Anarchs made my non-vampiric heart beat faster. It felt like coming home to this wonderful world and universe I love so much. I also really enjoy detective games and stories and so the sections where you get to play as the Malkavian Fabien were pretty cool. The gameplay itself unfortunately gets very repetitive with this taking place in only one hub area and you returning to the same 6 or 7 locations over and over and over again. The combat itself is also very bad and boring and there is simply too much of it. The first game was so cool since you often would have 3, 4 or even more ways to clear a mission. Here it is always the one linear way to clear it and it feels more like a Swansong sequel than a Bloodlines sequel.
