#BigCedarLodge #Wildernessresort #Cabelas #bassproshop #johnnymorris We are at Big Cedar Lodge a mega wilderness resort in Ridgedale Missouri outside of Branson, MO. This Mega resort sits at the top of Table Rock Lake. This is a luxry fishing resort and a family resort to make memories with your lil outdoorsman. Big Cedar Lodge is the best resort in the midwest. The Big Cedar Lodge is an incredible resort built by the Bilionaire Johnny Morris the owner of Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's. This Resort is freakin Disneyland for the outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter. There is so much to do in this grand resort. We check into our standard room at the lodge but Big Cedar Lodge has private cabins too that are luxary. But our double queen standard was just perfect. America's Premier Wilderness Resort Your Adventure Awaits There's something timeless about a secluded lakeside getaway and trading your daily rush for a more relaxed pace. Life feels easier when you're watching a sunset over Table Rock Lake. Come discover a place where your to-do list can wait, and the whole family can unplug, unwind, and reconnect to what matters. At Big Cedar Lodge, you'll find world-class accommodations, spectacular views, and adventure for the whole family just south of Branson, Missouri. Inspired by a commitment to conservation, Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops, created Big Cedar Lodge as a unique destination for families and friends to connect in the great outdoors. There’s something magical about arriving at a place that feels both grand and grounded. That’s Big Cedar Lodge. Tucked into the rolling Ozark Mountains of Missouri and wrapped around the shimmering Table Rock Lake, the lodge doesn’t shout luxury—it whispers it in rustic wood beams, hand-stitched quilts, and crackling stone fireplaces. As I checked in, I was welcomed like family—genuine smiles, warm greetings, and that slower Missouri pace that reminds you to breathe. Our favorite dinner was at Osage it was incredible reginal cuisine with a sunset ceramony where bag pipes play and a civil war cnaon blasts. By late morning, I was exploring the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, where centuries of fossils, Native American artifacts, and even Civil War memorabilia paint a portrait of a region shaped by time and tenacity. It’s not a quick stop; it’s a winding storybook told through stone, bone, and heart. For lunch, I found myself at Arnie’s Barn, a 150-year-old structure lovingly relocated from Texas and rebuilt beam by beam on Top of the Rock. The Mexican fare is vibrant, flavorful, and yes, the chips and guacamole are as addictive as they sound. Then, I did what any Doodle the Travel Bug traveler would do: I took the Top of the Rock Golf Cart Tour. It's quirky, it's beautiful, and it's deeply immersive—gliding past waterfalls, ancient cave formations, and postcard-worthy overlooks. And at one point, yes, you drive through a cave. Where else can you say that? Dinner that night was at Osage Restaurant, where windows stretch wide to soak in the sunset. I chose trout, fresh from the Ozarks, and sipped Missouri wine while the last light kissed the lake below. You don't rush a meal like this. You savor. Big Cedar Lodge is also quickly turning into America's number 1 golf destination with multiple courses designed by Jack Nicohlus and Tigger Woods. Morning began with Buzzard Bar’s hearty breakfast and live music from a singing cowboy. Yes, at 9 a.m. And it works. It’s the sort of joyful surprise Big Cedar delivers on a silver platter. Then: spa time. The Cedar Creek Spa is like entering a hidden grotto. Stone archways, soft candlelight, and a eucalyptus steam room that melted away every care I didn’t know I was carrying. My massage? Heavenly. If you come for nothing else, come for this. The afternoon was made for exploring. I tried bass fishing, because if you’re going to stay at a lodge built by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, you have to cast a line. My guide was patient, funny, and thankfully didn’t judge my lack of technique. Later, I took a quiet moment at the Chapel of the Ozarks. Whether you’re spiritual or not, there’s something sacred about standing in silence, surrounded by stone and glass, with Table Rock Lake stretching into forever behind the altar. My final meal was lakeside—at Devil’s Pool Restaurant, where southern comfort meets mountain charm. Fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread so fluffy it felt like biting into a cloud. It was the perfect finale. Final Thoughts: A Place That Stays With You Big Cedar Lodge isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to feel. To reconnect. With nature, with your family, with yourself. Every corner tells a story, and every moment invites you to slow down, look around, and fall a little more in love with the simple, beautiful things.
