Would you believe that some folks at CBS thought there could be a "better" kind of Dukes of Hazzard show? On Nov 8, 1980, the made-for-TV movie "Georgia Peaches" aired on CBS as a pilot for a potential new series. Starring Dirk Benedict, Tanya Tucker and Terri Nunn. Produced by the formidable Roger Corman who was the "car movie" king of the day. Despite the promising action sequences and Benedict's charm, the convoluted plot and s-l-o-w moving plot bogged things down. Viewers drawn in by the premise tuned out before the end of the pilot, and thus the ratings were not high enough to support "Georgia Peaches" having it's own show.
