Labour MP Zarah Sultana grew visibly emotional during a BBC interview as she recalled a visit to the occupied West Bank that she said defined her commitment to Palestinian rights. Holding back tears, she described witnessing an apartheid system, Israeli soldiers humiliating Palestinians at checkpoints, including a blind man and his elderly mother trying to reach a hospital in Jerusalem, and children being tried in military courts under military law. Sultana reflected on how the experience left a lasting impact, saying the images of Gaza’s suffering over the past two years continue to deeply move her. She argued that Britain has the power to help end the violence but has failed to act. Support stories that matter.
