A seminar regarding hearing impairment and Cochlear implants surgery in Pakistan was held at the DOW University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Ojha campus Karachi Pakistan and official coverage was provided by the Geo News. The purpose of the seminar was that how sensorineural hearing loss can be eliminated with digital hearing aids. Renowned ENT and cochlear implant surgeons from all over Pakistan participated and debated with the audience on hearing impairment in Pakistan. They said that 14 to 15 percent of the people in Pakistan suffer from hearing loss, of which 2.5 percent are born deaf. During the peak time of the seminar renowned and leading certified cochlear implant surgeon from Karachi Dr. Najam addressed the hearing aids issues and the purpose of cochlear implants & digital hearing aids. Dr. Najam debated based upon successful researches that have been conducted until now. He said that we can get back children born with congenital hearing loss to a happy life using Digital hearing aids and their hearing loss can be eliminated by implanting a medel cochlear implant in the inner ear.
