Originally from Zimbabwe, Vella came to Ireland for a better life for herself and her son. Living in a Direct Provision Centre in an unfamiliar country. She describes her experience of living through direct provision (the Irish system of asylum seeker accommodation) how it has strayed from it's original purpose and where she hopes to see it go in the future. She tells of how she managed to make the system of direct provision work for her to help tell her story and write a book Originally coming from Zimbabwe, Vella came to Ireland for a better life for herself and her son. Living in a Direct Provision Centre in an unfamiliar country, Vella has experienced massive changes in her life that she never once expected. Vella has now written a book about her life changing experiences and how life has been in Ireland.
