The Kelsey Museum presents “The Klinsky Expeditions,” a talk with panelists Geoff Emberling, Bryan Miller, John O’Shea, Brian Stewart, and David Stone alongside moderator William Pestle as part of our Digging Deeper Lecture Series on April 17, 2025. Last December, businessman and U-M alum Steve Klinsky gifted $1.15 million to the University of Michigan’s Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and Museum of Anthropological Archaeology. The goal? To establish a series of archaeological digs drawn from the groundbreaking research that U-M faculty and students are conducting around the world, as well as to create new educational programming for K–12 audiences based around these projects. At this presentation and panel discussion, you will hear from LSA faculty members who lead the five Klinsky-funded expeditions. They’ll discuss their projects’ backgrounds, their proposed goals for the upcoming field season and academic year, and why their work matters.
