In these times it should come as no surprise that a horrific political assassination has not paused inflamatory rhetoric but intensified it. In the days after Charlie Kirk’s murder, some on social media have expressed extreme views. Some seemed to celebrate his death. Late night ABC TV show host Jimmy Kimmel inaccurately linked the shooter to President Trump’s supporters. That brought threats from the FCC and prompted stations and the network to suspend the show. President Trump then said maybe other late night comedians who mock him should be canceled. And the president’s allies have threatened to go after liberal groups even though evidence shared by prosecutors at this point seems to show the gunman acted alone. We look at the look at the continued Ohio fallout from Charlie Kirk’s murder. We also discuss former Ohio State football coach and current Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel’s decision not to run for Ohio governor in 2026. There is new optimism that Intel’s planned chip factory in New Albany, Ohio will finally be built after rival chipmaker Nvidia will invest $5 billion in the struggling company. Some of the major Ohio labor unions are endorsing candidates from both parties in major 2026 election races. Labor unions have endorsed Republican Vivek in next year Ohio governor’s race and Democrat Sherrod Brown in next year’s U.S. Senate race. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is helping Cincinnati and Cleveland fight crime, however unlike President Donald Trump will be it without sending into National Guard troops. Finally, Intel has a new partner that could help complete its planned chip factories in New Albany. Rival chip maker, Nvidia announced it will invest $5 billion in Intel and working together on AI infrastructure and PCs.
