On the next part of my Ryedale ringing adventure, and this is my personal favourite out of all the towers we rang at, St Peter & St Paul at Pickering. Pickering Church is famous for it's paintings on the walls, and Pickering is a town I quite often visited as a child, especially to go on the North York Moors Railway. The bells here at Pickering are a 13 cwt Mears and Stainbank ring of 8 tuned to F, the bells were bast in 1919 and they are rung from the ground floor, which to me is slightly unconventional in a town church, but there are plenty town churchs with ground floor rings out there. These bells are absolutely beautiful, when we rang Queens while ringing call changes, they sounded immaculate!! Also look out for the fidget spinner that appears in the video!!
