I show off my non-existent gaming skills on ten Commodore Amiga classics! Thanks to your recommendations we will now only post new content on Fridays. Occasionally we may list more than one video - but they will all be on Fridays, so you'll know there'll be something new from us to watch every weekend (at least until you're all sick of the sight of me!) Retrogames started as the worlds first Retrogaming magazine way back in 1995, filled with reviews and analysis of rare games consoles and hard to find videogames. In 1998 our website became the first place you could buy console and computer games on the internet and in 2002 we launched our own London retro shop. Staggeringly it took another twenty years for us to finally launch our own YouTube channel. While I do love my Sega and Nintendo cartridges and related toys, I'm so old now that my roots are firmly from the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 era. I have a passion for the Tomy, Grandstand and Bandai 1980s electronic handheld games of my youth, not to mention Nintendo Game & Watch. Atari VCS and 2600 cartridges were amongst the first games I ever played, and rare Japanese oddities like the Virtual Boy still excite me to the core, though give me an MB Vectrex over a Super Famicom any day. As part of an active demo crew during the early 1990s, the mighty Commodore Amiga has a special place in my heart, though I had its rival, the Atari ST, the year before the Amiga came out. Actually, when I think about it, I'm still as excited about game collecting as I ever was! That said, having dealt with vintage games for nearly three decades, there are still several things I find very annoying about game collecting. Here is my top ten: (and no prizes for noticing how desperately I'm trying to crowbar format names in here!) 1: Dreamcast boxes - why did Sega make them so fragile? 2: Playstation 1 cases - why did everyone treat them so badly when they're so hard to replace! 3: Missing SNES manuals - where do they even go? 4: Master System and Megadrive case tags - who snapped them all off! 5: Atari VCS / 2600 Joysticks - Why are so many chewed at the shaft? 6: Mega Drive / Genesis - Writing scores on manuals or torn front pages - Why?? 7: Scraping dead skin from used controllers, N64 and Xbox seem to be the worst. 8: Squashed Amiga and PC big card boxes - Are you sitting on them? 9: Mattel Intellivision Missing Overlays - Come on, look after your stuff! 10: Atari 400/800 lid flaps, where the metal casing has detached from the plastic - Ugh! I'm sure you game collectors will agree with most of those! It's always fun to browse on our website, with over 25,000 vintage games for sale. Even better, if you want to sell your own games collection, then we would love to take a look and price what you have.
