For some odd reason my solo acted up on the first boot after installing the new mRo GPS. Perhaps a coincidence as I have experienced all sorts of other oddities like my phone crashing due to the solo app triggered by the UDP stream from the GoPro feed... at any rate I am happy with this upgrade. The 'new' acquisition time once arriving at a new flying location is around a minute or so; this aligns with both the A & B GPS modules I have flown with. Once I have been flying in an area, after swapping batteries and powering the units back on, the GPS lock is near instantaneous; an upgrade over the A & B GPS modules I have used. The mRo typically provides me with 15 satellites up to a common 21 satellites on clear days in open environments. In deep canyons I only receive 7-9 satellites gaining more as the unit rises up. The mRo chip fits into the Solo exactly as the stock GPS modules did, using the same cable and connector so you don't have to cut any wires. If the mRo chip is out of stock or out of your price range you could try a typical M8N found eBay. There are a couple of videos on YouTube that depict which wires to cut and splice together.
