In this video, Stefan Toth walks us through LASR, a lightweight review method designed to bring clarity and focus back into your work. Reviews matter because it’s surprisingly easy to lose sight of what you’re actually doing. Day-to-day decisions pile up, things happen accidentally, and before you know it, you’ve drifted away from your original intent. Reflection sessions are a deliberate countermeasure to that drift. LASR is not about code quality in the narrow sense. Instead, it focuses on the quality goals of the architecture. From an intentionally “apocalyptic” standpoint, the method asks: What could go wrong? LASR helps identify and uncover risks that threaten the goals you’re trying to achieve. Those goals then become the measure of importance for each risk. The clearer the goal, the clearer the risk—and LASR also allows risks to be clustered, making complex problem spaces easier to reason about. This conversation took place between Stefan Priebsch and Stefan Toth at ComoCamp 2025.
