Vaginal Examination (VE) in Labor | Pelvic Exam During Pregnancy - Maternal Care - Obstetrics A vaginal examination (VE) in labor is a crucial clinical assessment to evaluate labor progress and fetal condition. It helps determine cervical changes, fetal descent, and presentation, guiding management decisions. Indications include assessing labor progress, confirming active labor, checking for membrane rupture, and evaluating fetal position before interventions. The procedure involves obtaining consent, ensuring privacy, and using a sterile technique. The examiner inserts two fingers to assess cervical dilatation, effacement, consistency, fetal station, and membrane status. Afterward, findings are communicated, documented, and fetal heart rate is monitored. VE is typically performed every 4 hours in normal labor but more frequently if complications arise. Contraindications include placenta previa, PPROM, and unexplained vaginal bleeding. #VEinpregnancy #pregnancy #laborinpregnancy Join this channel to get access to perks: / @learnmedicineasap --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more medical and health content: / @learnmedicineasap Check out our other helpful playlists Obstetrics and Gynecology • Obstetrics and Gynecology General Surgery Lessons • General Surgery Lessons Internal Medicine • Internal Medicine Child Health and Pediatrics • Child Health and Pediatrics Pharmacology Lecture Videos • Pharmacology Lecture Videos Anaesthesiology | Anesthesiology • Anaesthesiology | Anesthesiology Medical Parasitology • Medical Parasitology Infectious Diseases • Infectious Diseases Pathology • Pathology Microbiology • Microbiology Anatomy • Anatomy Ear Nose and Throat - ENT • Ear Nose and Throat - ENT Oral Health | Oral Hygiene | Dental Health • Oral Health | Oral Hygiene | Dental Health Ophthalmology | Eye Infections | Eye Diseases • Ophthalmology | Eye Infections | Eye Diseases Oncology • Oncology Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) | Sexual Wellness & Health - Sexual Infection | STI • Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) | Sexua...
