The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) achieved its ultimate goal in 2023: the complete destruction of the chemical weapons stockpile stored at the Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD), also marking the completion of destruction of the declared U.S. chemical weapons stockpile. Additionally, the two Static Detonation Chamber units began operations to augment the main plant and destroy agent-contaminated secondary waste. BGCAPP is a state-of-the-art facility that safely destroyed the chemical weapons stockpile at BGAD near Richmond, Kentucky.
