Metroline Wright Gemini 2 Volvo B9TL Voith | Downshifts & Redlines through West London

Those who watched my previous video featuring a Voith B9TL will know most of it was general thrash with "normal" downshifts and there were only 3 bits where the bus was successfully tricked into holding its gear. Well today we are here to 1up that video... Here, for the most part on Route 81 and the rest of the journey, there were countless forced downshifts between 4th, 3rd & 2nd with gear holding up until 2000rpm as you'd be able to tell! We've got a bit of a cock-blocky limiter here, where after the upshift into 4th (with trickery) the bus had already hit the 39mph limiter so there was little - no acceleration after that. However, I do love how the Voith becomes audible after a certain RPM is reached... since the chugging from the D9B engine is pretty much never-ending 🤣. And not to mention, the subtle sound of the axles during the acceleration is quite nice too! Bit of both here, loud engine, faint axles!
