Unleashing The Beauty Of Taipei's Highest Points and its Amazing Street Food

It's day three in Taipei, Taiwan, It's a day of exploring peaks, towers and Street food!. We set out early on the MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Xiangshan Station. Our first stop is Elephant Peak, located 1.3 grueling kms from the station in Xiangshan Park. It's not for the feint of heart, with over 600 steps in the heat and humidity - 35c and 95% humidity - real killers! We reach the top of the peak after many rest stops and excessive perspiration. The view of Taipei and Taipei 101 tower from the top is impressive. We catch the MRT one station to the Taipei 101 / World Trade Center - where we have lunch in the basement food court. We catch the quick elevator to the 89 floor of Taipei 101 - Tickets cost NT $600 ~ AUD $29 per person. The view from the 89th Floor 380 meters high are impressive! We opted not to pay an additional NT $380 and go up to the top floor 101 Observatory. We have bubble tea at the cafe here and then check out the enormous tuned mass damper. We return to our hotel for a well earned rest. For dinner we had out to the Raohe Street Night Market. We try heaps of different street food including: Sweet Potato Balls Grilled Squid Taiwanese Strawberry Donut Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang - "small sausage wrapped in large intestine" Peanut Ice Cream Pancake with Cilantro (coriander) Taiwan Beer Candied Sweet Potato Another brilliant, hot and tiring day in Taipei.
