This MATLAB script simulates a rocket’s six-degree-of-freedom flight dynamics, combining translational and rotational motion with a control system and 3D visualization. The model accounts for mass reduction during fuel burn, altitude- and velocity-dependent aerodynamic forces, and full coupling between rotation and translation. Translational accelerations are computed in the inertial frame from thrust, aerodynamic forces based on Reynolds number and drag modeling, and gravity, with body-frame forces rotated using a quaternion-based transformation matrix. The simulation stores all state histories, produces dynamic plots, and optionally renders a 3D STL animation using homogeneous transformations derived from position and quaternion orientation, providing a realistic environment for analyzing rocket behavior under varying flight conditions.
