San Quentin Avenue Station is named after San Quentin State Prison located north of San Francisco in the unincorporated town of San Quentin in Marin County. On this route to Bohan towards Windmill Street Station, the trains run underneath the river through a tunnel north of the Northwood Heights Bridge. On this route to Algonquin towards Frankfort High Station, the trains run over a railway bridge south of the Northwood Heights Bridge.
