2025 Desolation Sound BC on Maple Leaf Adventure's MV Cascadia

Desolation Sound is an archipelago between the BC coastal mainland and Vancouver island. It's home to dense forest, abundant marine mammals, many sea and forest birds, most of the temperate trees, plants and fungus of Canada, and thousands of years of indigenous occupation. The MV Cascadia is a small ship carrying 24 passengers. Its powered tenders, kayaks, and naturalist on board is the perfect way to explore this rich setting. I summarize the 4 night trip following the ships path, night anchorages and guests activities of a typical Maple Leaf Adventure tour, although each one is different based on season, tides, and choice of stops.
