[ABOUT WEARING LOLITA TO VERSAILLES] I've read about some stories of lolitas being denied entry to the Versailles, which was corroborated by European girls. My friend wore the Versailles dress from Krad Lanrete, she has pink hair and wore a super puffy petticoat; when we were entering the gate, a guard came up to her, pointed at her dress, said something in French and gestured us to stop. Then miraculously, some other guard was calling him, so he had to leave, and of course we did not wait for him and sneak in very quickly. Phew. Once we were inside we didn't have any problem, although for a few times people were asking for pictures and formed a small circle around us. I think for tourists it's definitely safer to go for a casual style: natural hair or wig of natural color, not so puffy petticoat, small hair accessories, etc. We don't want to come all the way only to be denied entry at the door. However, if you are a French lolita, I encourage you to try different levels of OTT and test the boundaries. You're doing the entire community a service.
