Welcome to Subotica, Serbia — our final stop in this beautiful country and the last city we’ll explore before heading into Romania to wrap up our 3-month Balkan road trip! 🇷🇸 Subotica may be small and cozy, but it left a big impression on us. Known for its colorful Art Nouveau architecture, intricate tilework, and quiet streets, walking through Subotica felt like stepping into a fairytale. Every corner revealed another pastel façade, detailed rooftop, or ornate building that caught our kids’ attention and made exploring here such a joy. While Subotica doesn’t have a long list of “must-see” attractions, that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s the perfect place to escape the crowds, slow down, and enjoy a peaceful family stroll through one of Serbia’s most unique towns. As our last city in Serbia, Subotica gave us a calm and colorful send-off before heading into Romania — our final Balkan country. Stay tuned, because our Romania series is going to be a little different, and we can’t wait to share it with you! ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 – Intro 01:39 - Start of Our Day in Subotica 02:20 - Trg Slobode | Freedom Square - the Heart of the City 02:28 - City Hall - An Impressive Piece of Architecture 03:30 - Cathedral of Saint Teresa of Avila & Monument to the Victims of Fascism 04:17 - The Subotica Synagogue 04:50 - Franciscan Monastery and Church of Saint Michael the Archangel 05:16 - Raichle Palace 05:37 - Wrap Up of the Day | Thoughts on Serbia & Where to Next? 🇷🇸 Family Travel Tips for Subotica, Serbia 1.
