Bedhaya Bedhah Madiun Dance - One of the Best Traditional Dance of Java (Solo, Indonesia)
This Performance was held at Esplanade, Singapore. Bedhaya Bedhah Madiun Dance is depicting war between Madiun and Mataram in Java. The Bedhaya Bedhah Madiun Dance is classified as princess dancing which subtle, sublime, rich of art, beautiful, and ritual. Through this dance, the sultan's daughter trained and instilled education on ethics, aesthetics and subtlety by the sultan as the provision of life at the court. According to the Chronicle Nitik, Bedhaya is composed by Kanjeng Ratu Kidul. At the time of Sultan Hamengku Buwana I, he built the bedhaya dance as a palace ritual dance. It is called ritual because there are certain requirements in its implementation. For example: a dancer has to be pure (not menstruating), before the show had to be fasting, in the holy place called Ward Kencana, no offerings, certain time, there is a leader, and so'on.
