160km thru hike - Day 1 of 13 Mt Zero to Barigar Hike in Camp Ground 12.1 km hike as per signage or 12.9km hike as per map, so not sure what is the exact. Amazing hike with breathtaking landscapes - views of the mountain range as far as the eye could see, farmlands, canola fields - the trail was very well signed with an excellent footpad, from sandy sections, to rock slabs, ridgeline walking, stairs in sections, stepping stones - wildflowers were in bloom, waterfalls, creeks - just a real joy to hike with a few ascents which proved to be leg burners, a tough slog in sections. Some of the amazing landscapes included The Taipan Wall, Rocky outcrops and rock formations including bird rock, boulders, vibrant wild flowers, just breathtaking. Barigar camp ground had a hiker shelter/communal hut with usb charge stations, water tank (have some type of water purification system to treat all water though), toilets, timber tent pads with adjustable chains to pitch your tent - I'd suggest bringing extra guy rope as not all tents, such as mine, will align with chains, so I had to get a little creative using the extra guy rope I thankfully brought along, which worked a real treat and I had a perfect pitch every time. Great hike, awesome camp ground and facilities, good start to the hike.
