Stabilizing can often be a part of woodturning and resin casting when dealing soft or punky woods. Often times we find that rare piece of wood with special character but it's too fare gone or decayed to use in a project. Resin Stabilizing will allow you to use those specific pieces by replacing the air in the wood with resin. This is how I use an outside smoker to dry and stabilize my wood to avoid smelling up the house or contaminating a kitchen oven.
