The Camino Inglés, or English Way, runs from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. At around 112 kilometres, it's the shortest of the Camino routes to qualify for a Compostela certificate, and can comfortably be walked in a week. Before leaving Ferrol pilgrims must purchase their pilgrim passport, and obtain stamps from bars, churches and albergues along the route. At least two stamps a day are needed to qualify for the Compostela. Dormitory-style accommodation for passport holding pilgrims is available at public albergues, although it is first come first served! The Camino Inglés, like all the Caminos, is well-waymarked and signposted - it's almost impossible to get lost. @RamblingRevRachel and I walked the Camino Inglés over six days in early October 2024 and we'd highly recommend it. I can honestly say the experience was life-changing. It's far more than just another hiking trail. Our second day saw us set out from the albergue at Narón to walk through the sleepy centre of Neda. After a few rain showers, we arrived in Fene, ready for a break and hot churros. We then had a pleasant walk through eucalyptus forests and hamlets, before reaching Pontedeume and our beds at the municipal albergue. We had the privilege of joining in the Pilgrims' Mass in the church, where we were each presented with a small scallop shell.
