This Madison mid-century modern kitchen remodel was all about bringing the home back to its original design roots. The existing 1980’s kitchen had dated cabinetry, a built-in desk, and bulky soffits which didn’t reflect the architectural character of the home. The goal was to create a brighter, more cohesive space that felt authentic to mid-century design while improving everyday function. To accomplish this we removed the soffit, eliminated the unused desk, and added a functional peninsula to provide additional seating and better connection to the surrounding living spaces. Carefully selected materials brought this timeless mid-century style together. Natural light was maximized to enhance views of the outdoors, and a custom feature wall in the dining area was introduced to anchor the space with warmth and personality. The result is a light-filled, thoughtfully reimagined kitchen that honors the home’s mid-century modern heritage designed for everyday living.
