BOBIL HEATER AND CHINESE DIESEL HEATER INSTALL | Mercedes Vario Camper Conversion | Van Build Ep21

Could this be the WORST Chinese diesel heater install in the world... Maybe! But we powered on this week, through error codes, ill fitting exhausts and flat batteries! How do you stay warm in your van conversion? This week we are putting systems in place to ensure we have hot water and heating! We are using a Chinese diesel heater and a Bobil heat conversion system to get both of these things! Our system comprises of a 2kw Chinese Diesel Heater and a 60mm Bobil Basic Bobil Heater all housed within a DIY Diesel Heater Box. We built the box using 3mm aluminium chequer plate and 25mm aluminium angle extrusion, fixed together with rivets and rivnuts for the opening side. This week we ran the silicone Bobil lines between the hot water tank and the Bobil heater with an in-line 12v pump. We connected up our diesel heater with upgraded 60mm neoprene ducting (as it is mounted under the van, this will stand up to the weather better) and our fuel line, fuel filter, fuel pump, combustion air intake and exhaust. We also received an Error code E-06 when we turned on the heater - which was fixed by moving the fan down its spindle - you can watch this fix at 25:03 After this week it feels like we are well on our way to making our very own tiny house on wheels with our Vario Van Conversion!
