Samara is a small beach town on the western edge of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, and in this video, I spent some time just getting to know the place, the beaches, the people, the atmosphere. It’s not a resort town or a party hub. It’s slower, more grounded, and kind of feels like a mix between a local village and a backpacker hideout. What’s interesting is that Samara sits in one of the world’s five Blue Zones, areas where people live exceptionally long and healthy lives. You notice it in the lifestyle: people walk everywhere, eat fresh, simple food, spend time outdoors, and genuinely seem to enjoy life. That mindset seems to shape the town’s rhythm, shops open late and no one seems too stressed about anything. The beach itself is calm and safe to swim, with gentle waves that are perfect for beginners learning to surf. You’ll see locals surfing next to travelers, families playing soccer on the sand, and fishermen heading out at sunrise. It still feels very lived-in, like it hasn’t been completely taken over by tourism, which is rare. There’s also a small, creative community here of artists, expats, Ticos, and long-term travelers who bring a mix of energy and perspectives. If you stay a few days, people start to recognize you, wave at you in the street, or remember your coffee order. This video isn’t a travel guide or a list of “top 10 things to do.” It’s more about just spending time in Samara and sharing what it feels like to be there. #Travel #Samara #CostaRica #Tourism #Nicoya #PuraVida #BeachVibes #BlueZone #Pacific #CentralAmerica
