Two Young Kids Point Gun at Deputies During Standoff

(Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Albuquerque, New Mexico — On February 16, 2025, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alarming situation involving two young children, ages 7 and 9, armed with a loaded gun. The panicked deputies, trying to stay calm, tell the boys to put the gun down on the ground and that they’re not in trouble. Deputies go on to tell them this isn’t a game. Another deputy can be heard yelling to the boys that they’re trying to help them. While urging calm and trying to de-escalate the situation, deputies deployed a non-lethal projectile at the two children, which caused one of them to point the gun at law enforcement. Eventually they give up the gun.
