@sindhi @tpsindhi @SarcasticSindhi @kshkinbysakshisindhi @sindhuworld @PardeepSindhuVlog @vasudevdevnani “Preservation of Sindhi Language and Culture is the Strength of the Nation” – Vasudev Devnani A one-day National Seminar and Prize Distribution Ceremony on the theme “Contribution of the Sindhi Community to the Development of India” was organized today at the Swami Swaraj Auditorium of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer. The programme was jointly organized by the Indus Research Chair of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University and the National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language, New Delhi. The programme was graced by the blessings of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Hansram Ji Maharaj of Hari Seva Dham, Bhilwara. The Chief Guest of the programme was the Hon’ble Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Professor Vasudev Devnani, and the programme was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Suresh Kumar Agrawal. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Prof. Vasudev Devnani said that the Sindhi community is a strong and proud part of India’s multicultural soul, with its roots deeply connected to the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. During the Partition of 1947, the community endured immense suffering and displacement, yet it preserved its language, culture and self-respect and rebuilt its life in India. Through hard work, honesty and entrepreneurship, the Sindhi community has made significant contributions to the nation’s progress in trade, industry, education and social service. Through hospitals, educational institutions and social welfare activities, the community has strengthened India’s human resources. From the freedom struggle to independent India, the Sindhi community has set examples of sacrifice, leadership and patriotism. Sindhi language, folk culture and Sanatan values enrich India’s cultural diversity, and even today the community continues to play an active role in nation-building through economic development, cultural preservation and social harmony. On this occasion, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Hansram Ji Maharaj of Hari Seva Dham, Bhilwara, in his address, strongly emphasized the need to preserve the language, culture and identity of the Sindhi community. He stated that Sindh was not merely a geographical region but a living center of Sanatan civilization. However, after the Partition of 1947, the Sindhi community was deprived of political representation and a cultural base. With the decline of language, culture and identity are also under threat. Although economically strong, the community is weakening due to the lack of organized educational and cultural institutions. Sindhis across the world possess resources, but the collective will to establish their own universities, research institutions and cultural endowments has not yet fully developed. Swami Hansram warned that dependence solely on the government would not be sufficient; the community must awaken and come forward to secure its rights, representation and cultural preservation. He stressed that saving the language is the foremost duty, as the language spoken at home keeps culture alive across generations. He appealed to the Sindhi community to re-embrace its language, dress, traditions, songs and values, calling it the true legacy for future generations and a genuine tribute to their ancestors. Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Kumar Agrawal stated that over the past four months the University’s social and digital visibility has increased significantly, clearly reflecting the expectations and responses of society. Society wants the University to be active, research-oriented and deeply connected with Vedic and Sanatan traditions, and to emerge as a globally renowned institution. He emphasized that the Indus Civilization was not merely a region but a great civilization of diversity, coexistence and Sanatan values, which has made a unique contribution to India’s cultural identity. Owing to the vision and efforts of Hon’ble Vasudev Devnani, the work of the Indus Research Chair and the preservation of Sindhi language and culture is gaining new momentum. He underlined that the Sindhi language should not remain confined to a single community but should become a national identity, as culture and values survive through language. The loss of language leads to the loss of culture; therefore, its preservation is extremely vital. The programme was conducted by Prof. Hasso Dadlani, and the vote of thanks was presented by the Registrar, Kailash Chandra Sharma. Winners of the essay competition organized by the Indus Research Chair were also awarded. Higher Education Category: Prakash Tejwani, Monika Chaudhary, Mahima Soni, Riya Valecha School Education Category: Aarti, Ishika Khatwani, Bhavya Karamchandani The appointment letter was also presented to Dr. Lajvanti Chhatwani, newly appointed Deputy Director on contract in the Indus Research Chair.
