I think millennial money provides a unique peek into the spending habits of random people. Since personal finances are often talked about behind doors, its refreshing to see how others push towards financial freedom. I recently moved to Seattle to work full time, and I thought making a video about how much I spend as a new grad in Seattle could prove useful to current college students or other new graduates. Throughout college, I could mostly live off the money I earned from internships over the summer plus occasional holiday gifts; and I never really kept a budget. After graduating from UCSD this past summer, I realized I needed to start acting like an adult. The first step to that was budgeting. I moved up to Seattle to work full time as a program manager at Microsoft and for an entire month, I tracked every single purchase I made as a new grad in Seattle. For those familiar with CNBC make it and millennial money, I tried to breakdown my spending by category. Tracking every single purchase definitely made me more aware about how much I spend, and I hope this video can give some insight into a random new grad's (probably bad) spending habits. As a disclaimer, I am in no way a personal finance expert. If you want serious personal finance tips, I highly suggest checking out Graham Stephan on YouTube. He makes great personal finance videos, with very tangible approaches to financial freedom.
