Bupa Foundation x Lifecare - Better Together Medical Camp 2025

Our incredible Bupa volunteers threw themselves into two 12-hour days volunteering at the Maasai Mara Medical Camp in June 2025 - each with specific roles, including: Registering thousands of patients (alongside a local translator) Triaging patients and taking observations Crowd control for hundreds of people waiting to be seen Dispensing medications in the field-pharmacy Distributing thousands of food parcels Taking donations to local schools as well as supporting set up, clean up and spending time with the local community The camp had incredible impact. Many patients walked for days to get there, and everyone was seen: 4,157 patients 73 cataract surgeries 500 optical consultations 64 tumours removed 240 teeth extracted 2 cleft lips repaired 1000+ food parcels. We also got to see our solar-powered water borehole, which the Bupa Foundation funded a few years ago in action. This is helping provide sustainable, clean drinking water to 10,000 local people. And as a result, the water-born diseases were less prevalent in this camp than they were a few years ago. This was a perfect way to celebrate the Bupa Foundation's 10th anniversary, and really live our purpose of 'helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world.' 🌍
