Join me for a Nature Inspired Christmas Decor Dinner & Decorate with me in our little farmhouse dining room here at the Carriage House for 2021! I’ll be making Southern Style Red Beans and Rice, for dinner for it’s a cold winter’s night, so grab a cozy blanket and something warm to sip on, and I hope you enjoy your visit here! (Usually around 3pm North America Central Time)You can always subscribe and click the notification bell so you’ll be notified when a video is posted:) Southern Style Red Beans & Rice Ingredients: Olive oil 2 Medium Onions, chopped 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped 4-5 CLoves of Garlic, chopped 4 Cans of Dark Kidney Beans that have been rinsed and drained 1Tsp Paprika 1 Tsp Cajun Seasoning Salt like Lawry’s (Or just seasoned salt) 1 TBSP of Dried Thyme 1 Bay Leaf 1 Ham Hock 4 Cups of Vegetable Broth Coat the bottom of a large pot with olive oil (enough to cover the bottom of the pot...probably ¼ of a cup. Saute the onions and bell pepper in oil for about ten minutes or until tender and almost lightly browned. Add a little bit of salt and pepper. Next, add your garlic and saute for about 1 minute. Then add your kidney beans and spices and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Add your broth, ham hock, and bay leaf. Bring everything to a boil and then lower to a gentle simmer for about 30-45 minutes or until it’s just beginning to get thick:) Serve on top Uncle Ben’s Brown or White Rice and Green Beans if you like!
