A Simple Way to Edit Photos in Photoshop

Are you daunted by Adobe Photoshop? Don’t be. While there is a hell of a lot of features and tools in Photoshop, you really don’t need to use them all. For 90% of my photos I use just a few simple tools, but which can have an amazing impact on the photos. In this photo editing tutorial I show you a simple way to edit your photos in Photoshop. Getting it right in camera is paramount, and using the right technique, getting your composition right and also waiting for the right light and conditions are equally important. Without these your photo will never be good. It’s a myth that you can rescue a photo in Photoshop, or make up for bad light or bad photography with it. But, just like in the days of film, all images need post processing to add that finishing touch. If you shoot and save in Jpeg only, then the camera’s software will do that for you. But if you shoot in RAW, you can take control of the processing yourself, but it doesn’t have to take too long. I rarely spend more than 10 minutes on a photo, unless I am applying some special technique to the image like exposure blending or focus stacking.
