After more than ten years since Simon Andersen initially started work on his video game magnum opus, Owlboy has finally been released on consoles. You may have already played this game, as it's been out on PC for a while already, or you might have only just heard of this game for the first time. Regardless, the story of Owlboy is absolutely fascinating, and even if this might not end up be a game that you've heard of, you'll definitely want to hear about its development. It's crazy to think of how much effort it would take to stay faithful for a game project for ten years. That Simon Andersen, his wife Julianne, and the other members of the D-Pad Studios team managed to stick with this, is absolutely incredible. It probably helps when you're showered in praise right at the start of development - Owlboy has been winning awards for years, despite only having recently been released. We worried about dwelling too much on the trials the guys at D-Pad ran into with their game. If you'd like to learn more, there's a link to an interview with the creators of Owlboy below that might help shed some light on the trials they went through, and a nice long panel video where Simon and the team talk personally about everything they went through. Jo-Remi Madsen has said that, along the way, they had to "lose hope" in their game, so that instead, they could focus on doing things, and achieving goals. Apparently, hope isn't going to make things happen, and Jo is instead eager for people to get out there and try things. If you're in this situation, if you're waiting on a daily basis to see your dreams become a reality, maybe it's time to give up on hope, and start acting. Just as the creation of Owlboy took a lot of effort and resourcefulness, if you work at your personal goals, you'll be able to achieve them no matter how long it takes!
