OCD loves to get you on the hamster wheel of rules, compulsions and avoidance. It dangles a carrot that says, “Just do what I want and all your discomfort will go away.” When you believe OCD’s lies you live in a world that is controlled by OCD. You might demand that your family live under OCD’s control as well. Whole households can get hijacked by the demands of OCD. You might fight with your family for not giving in to what OCD wants. It can help to take a closer look at what is going on. Who are you fighting? Your OCD or your family? Who is trying to help you? Your family or OCD? The more you do what OCD wants the bigger OCD grows. There is no long-term relief when you follow OCD’s rules. When families learn that feeding OCD demands makes your struggles worse, they often pull back. They can only do their part in helping you detangle from this OCD beast. In this week’s YouTube video I talk about how OCD gets you to fight your family instead of OCD and how this pattern only makes your struggles worse. 🌸 For more in-depth tools to crush your OCD, check out my online course: Crushing OCD Class for Kids and Teens at http://www.Atparentingsurvivalschool.... *** Don’t have time to watch?
