In the hand drawn universe, Ursula, Facilier, and the Witches of Morva conjure a spell to communicate with Maleficent across dimensions and to warn her of the threat posed by Mok. The Battle of the Ballroom To celebrate his forces' victory in Sugar Rush, Pitch and his council throw a royal ball with the Fairy Godmother providing the entertainment, however Maleficent and her forces lay siege to the castle to spoil the festivities and take over. Pitch's forces defend the castle, while Rothbart and Kadaj crash the party so that Rothbart can get his revenge on Maleficent. If Rothbart can defeat the woman who killed him, he can return to flesh and blood. Will he succeed? Hades meets a despondent Queen Persephone, and two lonely broken hearts find comfort in one another. Abandoned by her forces and defeated, Maleficent is approached by a strange vagabond named Ardyn Izunia who reveals that he knows a way to get her back to her home dimension. Being blackmailed by Syndrome, Snatcher tells Pitch that the traitor who sent the assassin is actually Persephone, and he also exposes her infidelity. Pitch, enraged, forges an alliance with Marluxia to kill his treacherous wife. Hades and Persephone vs Pitch Black and Marluxia Hades and Persephone attempt to elope together, but Pitch and Marluxia cut them off. Pitch is intent on ending their love affair (and their lives) permanently, but Hades isn't willing to let that happen.
