A new advertising campaign from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs warns would-be pet owners about unscrupulous sellers. Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub The campaign urges buyers to visit their prospective pet at its home with its mother, check the animals are at least eight weeks old before they are allowed to be taken away, and put the name and phone number of breeders into a search engine to ensure they are not selling lots of animals. The video is part of the government’s Petfished campaign, which is supported by organisations including the RSPCA, Dogs Trust and Cats Protection. The Guardian publishes independent journalism, made possible by supporters.
