This is a broad and high-level overview of various types of plurality, including some theories, observations, and subjective experiences of plurality. Plurality includes dissociative identity disorder, other specified dissociative disorder, tulpamancy, and may include channeling, and other experiences. Also included is a broad overview of different "residents," the system members or headmates that are found within a plural or DID system. These descriptions cannot be exhaustive, as folk are applying various labels to unique experiences based on some basic common factors, but we present this information in the hope of providing an overview to illustrate the broad experiences that all fall under the Plural umbrella and to also show that psychology does not explain (nor even attempt to explain) all of these experiences. This video falls short in showing the real breadth of cultural experiences and explanations of plurality — and is more an overview of the ranges of experiences we have bumped into within the plural community and in psychology and philosophy literature over the last 30+ years, and to give plurals, singular folk and clinicians a framework to begin to explain or describe these experiences to each other. Until all of the people described (and those missed) can come together and compare experiences, we may never know the real breadth & depth of plurality. Another material weakness of this video is lack of full discussion of polyfragmented plurality, or sub-systems. That will probably need to be a part 2 in a series of outlining and illustrating plurality. This focused more on breadth. To go into polyfragmented plurality or sub-systems would be to more fully address the depth and layering within individual plural systems.
