To install a self-supporting placo ceiling in a hallway, here are the general steps to follow: Materials and tools needed: Metal rails and studs Plasterboard (placo) Screws for plasterboard Plugs and screws to fix the rails Insulation (if necessary) Measuring tools (meter, spirit level) Drill/screwdriver Hacksaw Drywall knife Steps: 1. **Preparation**: Measure the width and length of the hallway to determine the quantity of materials needed. Mark on the walls the height at which the ceiling will be fixed. 2. **Installing the rails**: Fix the metal rails (U rails) along the walls at the marked height. Use plugs suitable for the type of wall. 3. **Fixing the studs**: Insert the metal studs (C studs) into the rails fixed to the wall. Space them generally 60 cm apart, but check the manufacturer's recommendations. 4. **Insulation (optional)**: If you want to add acoustic or thermal insulation, insert it between the studs before installing the plasterboard. 5. **Installing the plasterboard**: Screw the plasterboard onto the metal studs. Start at a corner and work your way up. Make sure the edges of the boards meet well. 6. **Finishing**: Once the boards are in place, apply joint tape and plaster to fill the spaces between the boards. Sand the joints once dry to obtain a smooth surface. Paint or decorate according to your preferences. with papa brico #plasterboard #renovation #diy
