I have been saying I am ready to learn Krio, so in today's vlog we see if I can learn some basic Krio words and phrases. And as always it was hilarious! Let me know what you think~ Krio is an English-based creole language that is lingua franca and de facto national language spoken throughout the West African nation of Sierra Leone. Krio is spoken by 96 percent of the country's population, and it unites the different ethnic groups in the country, especially in their trade and social interaction with each other. Krio is the primary language of communication among Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad,[ and has also heavily influenced Sierra Leonean English. Krio is native to the Creoles who are freed slaves from Britain, The United States and West Indies. It is mainly derived from English but has influences from other African languages (Yuroba for example), European languages (such as French) and also contains some expressions found in the West Indies. As of May 23 2022, Krio is now on Google Translate. Check it out - https://translate.google.com/?hl=en&s... Here is an additional Resource - VSL - https://learnakan.com/common-twi-expr...
