Snorkeling the House Reef at Dusit Thani Maldives Resort in February of 2020 was an amazing experience. Dusit Thani has a beautiful resort and friendly attentive staff. After thorough research, we chose this resort for the overall balance of rooms, amenities, food and the snorkeling available at one of the best house reefs in the Maldives. The house reef overall was nice even though it was moderately impacted, by the last coral bleaching in 2017. A few areas are bleached and dead, unlike other resorts, that fared worse. The staff at the resort is working hard transplanting new coral but that's a monumental task. Only time will tell, due to the slow growth of corals and elevated sea temps. Unfortunately, last coral bleaching many resorts in the Maldives did not have the same outcome as Dusit. Such a shame this is becoming a constant occurrence. Only time will tell if we will make a difference to minimize our impact on this world.
