It’s in a class all by itself and is the granddaddy of extreme off-road racing. There's time trials, head to head racing (with or without qualifying), fastest total times with multiple runs, call outs for a driver to challenge another driver regardless of class, and even wheel to wheel with multiple vehicles running at once! The Stock class usually consists of vehicles that are taken off of the street mostly because they are unable to pass inspections but people some times will take their daily driver and participate in the event. And yes some times it doesn't end well for that participant.* The Stock class has a little flexibility when it comes to modifications but not too much. You are allowed to use aftermarket suspension parts but most events will limit how much lift you are allowed to use for around 4 to 6 inches whether it's by shocks or springs. For example certain Jeeps are made with 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and v8 motors. If you had a Jeep that was currently a 6 cylinder you could take that motor out and give it a v8 as long as it was a v8 that was offered by the factory. The same can be applied to the drive line.
