The Part 3 test pass rate is only 35%. Why is this so bad? Getting 100's of hours experience teaching pupils before attempting the Part 3 test can be counterproductive. This video explains how you can easily lose focus on the 17 competences if you're too busy trying to earn money using a PDI licence. You only need 20-40 hours of practice teaching pupils before you attempt the part 3 test. This is ample practice! The part 3 test is a test competence, not a test of experience. You will gain lot's of experience once qualified. As a PDI you should focus on developing competence and passing the part 3 test. All the big driving schools will tell you the more practice the better, because they want you paying them a weekly franchise fee. But the average part 3 test pass rate is a pathetic 35%. In my experience, PDI's who have less practice with more focus have a better chance of passing. You must ask your sponsoring ADI if they are happy for you to use the Part 3 Video Tutorials to count towards the 40 hours. It's the responsibility of your sponsoring ADI to complete the ADI 21T Instructor Training Declaration form and to provide the 40 hours training.
