Old Man Deciphers Dylan's, "Maggie's Farm" Live at Newport (1965)

Dylan goes electric! This recording preserves one of the most iconic moments in Rock 'n Roll history: the first song of Bob Dylan's electric set at the Newport Folk Festival. The song is followed by a chorus of boos from the audience, but 57 years later it's hard to understand what they were mad about. The song is a rockin' bluesy number with great lyrics, backed by members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, featuring a blistering performance by Mike Bloomfield on lead guitar! This reaction was originally recorded in September of 2022 for my Old Men in Chairs Channel (Now known as The Clarion Call). This is an edited version for re-posting here on the Deciphering Dylan YouTube Channel. The audio quality has been enhanced and a few extraneous comments have been removed.
