Let's talk about Handpan mold! Do you know what a Handpan mold is? The mold is a "perfect" shell used under the shell that will be shaped, basically a matrix so that the maker does not go beyond the desired curvature and depth line, making everything faster and standardized, or in other words, everything gets easier In the last 8 years, all our instruments were shaped without a mold or what we call "free hand shaping" Sculpting without the mold requires years of study and improvement, the possibilities for error are enormous, but so are the possibilities for construction and unique sculptures. With the mold, potential errors are minimized, in addition to creating a pattern for the curvature of the shell and sound, an aspiring handpan builder will be able to diligently develop their shape with mold in a few months while using freehand would take years to master it. That's why we always joke that the mold is a way of using a "cheat" for the handpan building and we didn't consider using it until now...
