Hauling the first mainline steam excursion out of the capital, 34067 Tangmere would make an extremley rare visit to the south, to take charge of 'The Valentines White Rose' from London Kings Cross to York. The tour would head up the ECML to Peterborough, before travelling via Sleaford & Lincoln to reach Doncaster, before heading via Church Fenton to arrive at York. Tangmere would only haul the outward run, returning to her base at Carnforth after arriving at York, with the return being diesel hauled. Seeing Tangmere down south is a rare enough event in itself, but its even rarer to see a Southern Pacific grace the East Coast Mainline. Starting at Finsbury Park just after sunrise, Tangmere would leave a smokey trail as she passed through. Heading further north to the newly instated footbridge just north of Biggleswade station, and with the sun now fully up on a clear sky winter's day, 34067 is next captured heading towards Peterborough. Finally, the 'Spamcan' is captured at Cranmore Drove in Stowgate, heading towards Sleaford. Big thanks to Jack for providing transport to the latter two locations on what was a glorious morning weather wise. •Facebook: / themodsterrailwayvideos
