The myth that seeds an unconscious desire in Jason leading to his quest: the setup of the Golden Fleece by his ancestors. Seekers will resonate with the urge to journey, to seek the divine. Module 1 Lesson 5 Ino, the second wife of Athamas, desires to ensure her son ascends to the throne. She schemes to have Phrixos (now Phrixus), the son of Nephele, the first wife of Athamas, killed. Phrixus escapes with his sister, Helle, on the back of a winged golden ram. At the end of the journey in today's Georgia, he sacrifices the ram whose golden fleece is then hung on a tree protected by a dragon. Later, the fleece becomes the quest of Jason.
