Christian J. Simon stars as Gilbert, a smart and honest 12-year-old with a wry sense of humor. He is Marshall's best friend and hates scary movies – total opposite of Marshall. Gilbert is comfortable admitting his fears and sets boundaries about what he is willing to do. Meeting Harold was one of the scariest moments of his life, but he learns to slowly overcome his fears and appreciate Harold for who he is on the inside.
